Time for Saturday Small Talk!

If you could be transported to any time and place in history, when and where would you choose?

What is your favorite ride at Disneyland?

When you were a child, what did you think you wanted to be as an adult? Did you enter that profession? Is it still in your future plans or dreams?

(Feel free to join the conversation in the comments or on your own blog~ but leave a link in the comments so we can enjoy your answers!)

I'm still thinking about times and places! Sadly, it is probably somewhere in the U.S. in the 50s or 60s. Not sure I'd want to live before then...

I have always loved Disneyland, but don't know if I can choose a favorite ride. As a kid, I always loved Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Carribean. I can't wait to take the boys when they are old enough to truly enjoy themselves!

I wanted to be an architect or an interior designer. I still love looking at house plans, and I'm a designer wanna-be. If I ever add a paying job to my career list at this point it would probably be writer or photographer. But I'll need to improve both skills before I'm worth paying. :)

anyway, to answer the questions at hand...
1. i have always wanted to live during the 50's, the sock hops the poodle skirts, the innocents, i just love it!

2. we haven't dared to attempt disneyland, not w/ 4 kids under 8yrs. but soon, any suggestions on the rides??

3. as a child i wanted to be a dog catcher, oddly enough, i don't chase wild dogs around but chasing 4 kids is pretty darn close!! i am a faux painter, i have always loved interior design and this is as close as i get! as far as future plans... i plan on breaking off into painted furniture and canvas soon!

thank you for your comment - i love your blog and will be back to look at more of your great pictures!!

1. I'd either like to be alive and be an Israelite during the Exodus, or perhaps one of the women who witnessed the death of Jesus (because then I would have known him during his life, death, and resurrection).

2. I've been to Disneyworld once, the summer before grade nine. Honestly, coming from Canada's Wonderland, Disneyworld sucked IMO. BUT, I was 13, and the rides at Wonderland are AWESOME, not themed like a little child would like. Having said that, my sister and I went a couple of years ago and did all our favourite rides, and we realized that it just wasn't as fun as when we were children!!!! (BTW, *I* now want to take my kids to Disneyworld.)

3. I never aspired to be anything but a wife and mom. Seriously. At one point I wanted to be a nursery school teacher, and since I've been homeschooling for six years, I guess you could say that I've been a nursery school teacher a few times over! ;)

P.S. I'd love to be a phototgrapher, but my sister is one and I know there's NO WAY I could ever be one. She received all the creative genes in the family.

1. I'd want to live in the 50's in Oregon. Life was so much simpler.

2. Disneyland...Splash Mountain..and Peter Pan...I love it!

3. I always thought I'd be a nurse. Then I worked at a Nursing Home when I was a teen...and discovered that people die! The closest I've come is being a Mom...and that's my chosen profession!

I've been reading your blog for a few months and really enjoy it! I "think" we're shirt-tail relatives.

Hmmm. I'd either want to go back to the 40s--fabulous fashion and a more "innocent" time *or* back to the years I spent in Germany as an Army brat. I remember those times being magical.

Favorite ride at Disneyland: probably Thunder Mountain Railroad. ;D

I wanted to have something to do with fashion- preferrably editorial. I was going to be a very MODERN, cutting edge woman living it up in some huge metropolis-preferrably New York City. lol. But when I grew up a bit- I realized my only true aspiration was to have children and be a good mother. Other than that I had no true inclination of what I wanted to be. I've always been artistic but also loved foresic and medical science...go figure!

Oh, yes! Debbie is my cousin. And didn't one of your daughters play her harp at our shop one summer? How fun! Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment. It's great to have you here.

Time travel... usually I imagine it whenever I'm reading a historical novel. I'm currently obsessing over early England when the Danes invaded but it was pretty gory so I think I'll pass. And my stay would have to be very temporary because I enjoy the hygiene and conveniences of our day. AND I'd have to be from a fairly well off family. So if everything fell into place...middle ages England, Victorian England or pre-revolutionary war America.

I always loved Pirates at Disneyland.

When I was young I wanted to grow up to be just like Mary Tyler Moore so I could have a cool apartment like hers. I imagined either a psychologist, lawyer or airline stewardess (but they're not called that anymore!). I'm none of those things and have no aspirations to venture into those fields.

Thanks for the fun questions!

My favorite ride in Disneyland is Peter Pan because i remember my dad and i went on it over and over because there was no line. Yes, i know i was 24 years old, but it was so much fun!

When I was a child, I used to sit on the floor next to my dad's desk filling out tax forms with pretend names. From that time on, I wanted to work with my parents doing taxes and accounting. Thats exactly what I am doing now!

I also remember as a young child when the Avon lady would come over and show my mom cool stuff, and she would also go to my grandma's house. I always wanted to be like that lady, so now, I'm also selling Avon.

I would go back to high school. I know I am INSANE... who would do high school over again? I miss the music, the freedom, the belly laughs with friends and that silly feeling you got in your stomach when you had a crush on a boy. I loved high school!

My favorite ride at Disneyland is Space Mountian... but the OLD Space Mountian where the seats were so hard you would get whiplash on every turn and the music sounded like a track from Batman and the speakers were molded around your head so you could "feel" the music. I get chills just thinking about it...oh, and the SMELL of the ride!

I idolized my dad and always wanted to be a teacher like him. I am 29 and finally finishing college to get my credential.
