Playing the Field

My whole family met at Mom and Dad's
for an alfresco dinner
(BBQd chicken shish kabobs and blackberry cobbler)
and a casual game of softball.
Leif had no trouble getting into the spirit.
He was the ball and bat boy.

Luke needed a little coaching.

Mom wasn't about to be left out.

Levi hasn't played a day of softball in his life. (But he's watched waaaay too much of The Rookie, apparently.)

The sun set on Poet's Garden.
And across the field on our little hill.
Until it was so dark we could barely see the ball.
But why should that stop us?
I have the best family in the world. Seriously.

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful time! Your so lucky to have your family close by! We left all of ours behind in So. Cal. and it's pretty rough sometimes! But we have new family traditions we have started just the 5 of us.
