The Outing

We had one of those 'mom desperately needs to get out of the house for a while' days. The kids jumped in the truck, and we drove back roads through the countryside until we were starving. Burgerville was a must. Sweet potato fries are in season along with end-of-the-season blackberry milkshakes. I made sure we had the camera along so that the boys could take a few photos of mom.

It was a perfect day for visiting the play structure near our old home. Levi wanted to know where all the kids were. He has no concept of being in school all day. I've tried to explain it, but...

I'm going to pay for this all weekend. How long has it been since you played on the monkey bars?

Happy weekend, everyone!!

Look at you, making good on MizBoo's challenge!!! These are totally darling photos! So, did you bring along a point and shoot, or was Levi able to wrap his hands around YOUR camera?!? He did GREAT!!!

Happy weekend back at ya...

Oh, Burgerville sounds good!!! We were there last summer at the end of August on a little get away to OMSI and the zoo. I had one of those super yummy blackberry shakes, oh and their onion rings are fabulous!!! We don't have them down here :( I do get to eat there in November though :) Looking forward to that already!

Looks like you guys had a fun day!!!

Hi Heidi

How wonderful to see photos of you with your boys.

I love having a go on the swing at the park -it is liberating and makes me feel so relaxed. Next time we're at the park I will follow in your footsteps and have a go on the monkey bars. My upper body could do with a workout!

I read a quote the other day that said something along the lines of: a park is to child-rearing what the Colosseum was to the ancient Romans: a place to meet people and chat to friends.

Love
Elise

Adding to Skeller..."You did it!" You got "mom" in the picture! I love these shots and not too bad for a boy!

Great photos! I love that you got out and had fun WITH the boys - so often for me it's a desire to get out and ESCAPE the boys. :)
Also, I have to say that I appreciate seeing your boys (is that Luke?) on TOP of the monkey bars. Mine are always on top and not underneath. Too often Will climbs up and up and up and then says, "Mom! I don't know how to get down!" :)

skeller~ Both of the boys enjoy taking pictures with the Nikon. Luke took a couple of the ones I posted. I just make sure they have the strap around their necks. :)

Carole~ Oh, I often want to escape without the boys, but some days that just isn't possible. :) Both Levi and Luke were on top of the monkey bars. Anything for a challenge, LOL.
