Life's a Picnic

Our weather has been fabulous the last few days. A respite in the middle of a rainy, gray winter. The boys have been soaking up the sunshine. Why is it that sunshine = picnic? Levi got out the picnic blanket and came in for snacks. He told me they were riding their bikes to {our last name} Park, would I like to come? The sight of their three bikes lined up against the fence made my day.

Shoes were discarded because sunshine also = bare feet. Who cares if it is still cold outside?
This is the life, folks, this is the life.

What a fun day! We love picnics, too - especially when the boys pick the meal.

Oh, that looks so inviting! We haven't been above 25 degrees for at least 2 weeks! :(

I love this post - the only feet I'm seeing here in NH are the snow piles that are several feet high. What is that green stuff on the ground?

Hasn't the sunshine been wonderful?
What a lovely thought the boys had. That IS the life.

Hello! I just discovered your blog the other day and I am loving it! I hope you don't mind, I put your blog link on my home school blog, are you okay with that?

I love your photography on this post! I would never think to take pictures of there feet! I just may, now that I've seen how cute these pictures are!

I love sunny days like this, and look forward to them so much. We are still very cold here... it'll probably be a couple more months before bare feet! :o)

How funny. This is exactly what Ilex did on Monday! She made a picnic for all the kids (Drake, Ivy, Jake, Reilly & Basil the rabbit). Apparently sunshine = picnic in her mind also. Two peas in a pod.

What fun! I can't wait for it to be warm enough for that kind of fun! I totally understand about picnics and barefeet, the two just seem to go together.

Heidi-- I just wanted you to know that, per your recommendation several weeks ago, I recently picked up a copy of Little Britches at the library. We just finished reading it today (I think we read for close to two hours b/c my boys didn't want to stop, lol), and we loved every second of it!

Thank you so much for passing along this title-- I never would have picked it up myself, so I am so glad you mentioned it...

Keep the titles coming!

Blessings,
heather

Fun! My boys only suggest picnics in the summer. But they do jump on the trampoline...any weather, any temperature...daily! Oh the joy of little boys! Love the bikes lined up!

Here in the sunny south it has hardly been over freezing the last week or so, even some snow (not much - just enough to get hopeful). But what a nice treat & a great way to spend it.

Katrina~ I'd be delighted if you linked me. :) Thanks for commenting and saying hello!

Holly~ Of course, she did! Those two kids. What are we going to do with them? :)

Heather~ It thrills me to hear that you enjoyed Little Britches. Sometimes it is scary to make recommendations, knowing that not everyone will feel the same way about a book...
