Breathe

Breathe

To one who has been long in city pent,
'Tis very sweet to look into the fair
And open face of heaven, - to breathe a prayer
Full in the smile of the blue firmament.

~John Keats, Sonnet XIV

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.

~Robert Louis Stevenson

Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies.

~Erich Fromm

tho my sense of serenity & calm is somewhat dispelled by the movie Bean playing right next to me and all the boys' howls of laughter ... ;-P

I was just this afternoon talking with someone about sky blue backgrounds with pink flowers. This is lovely and I'll be sending her the link.

I really needed to read the Fromm quote today. I'm stuggling with a family member's decision to go with, or without Hospice care and feel like every moment matters. Isn't it wonderful how one can find inspiration in the words of others. Thank you for writing and sharing this blog.
