Hi, Friends

Img2013-08-25_0050rs

Thanks for coming here and visiting my world. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you.

How are you? How can I help or encourage you? Do you have anything you would like to share? Any questions?

Are you ready for fall? What is your favorite season? What are you most looking forward to in the next few months?

Is life in a steady rhythm for you, or are you facing a new or difficult season?

Tell me something about yourself. What would we be surprised to know about you? What unexpected stories do you have to tell if only someone would ask the right questions?

Hi Heidi...greetings from Nebraska where we are currently in a heat wave. I have enjoyed seeing your pictures and watching your family grow over the last few years. I love to read and that is one of the reasons I enjoy your blog.
I love the fall and am eagerly looking forward to the cooler weather and the beauty of the midwest in the fall. I work in an elementary school library and enjoy watching what the kids are reading.
Blessings!

Hi Heidi, I'm Beverly in California. Mother to 3 ages 23, 20 and almost 5. Yes, yes, I know. Glutton for punishment, I guess. I also love to read your blog and keep up to date with your homeschooling. I'm unable to homeschool my youngest sad to say, but I suplement my almost 5 year old's education with many of your suggestions. Thank you for your thorough school notes! They are so helpful.

Hi Heidi,
I have been following you for a few years now. Pretty sure that I found you by googling "classical conversation blogs" and you were one of the first that popped up.I enjoy seeing what you are up to with CC! Being a photographer myself I love seeing all the pretty pictures :)

Hi Heidi - We are in Michigan and also in the middle of a heat wave. Last hurrah for summer, I guess. My daughter would be a sophomore this year and my son would be 1st grade. We took a break for the summer from homeschooling, so I am getting us ready again. I have been following your blog for so long, I do not remember how I found it! I appreciate your curriculum lists and I often send some of the quotes you paste to friends. My son and I started the first Life Of Fred book a few days ago, and we are reading 2-3 chapters at a time. He laughs out loud. Thanks for the recommendation - I would never have found them on my own!

Hi , Heidi. I'm Gina. I'm a french woman who recently landed in Canada. I was living near Paris with my husband and our 3 boys (11, 5, 2 ). I was following you the last 3 years i think. I found your blog through google while planning a homeschool year for my eldest boy. we did it just one year. It was hard. I ended up with a breakdown, for many reasons. But God keep telling me that's what He calls me to do. We now live in Canada (the french part) and our school year starts in September, at home. We arrived here just last month for a whole new life and i look to find moms and homeschoolers to stay connected with. I really love your family, your simplicity, your values. I don't know you personally ( but i wish i could). My email is ginamuo@hotmail.com I'll be glad to hear from you. I kinda feel alone here in our new american life. We will follow the Charlotte Mason way but with a french program for my 6th grader. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and please, sorry for my bad english.

Well that was such a sweet hello I feel I must respond!

I've been reading your blog for about 6 months and it has been such help to us on our homeschooling journey. Because of your recommendations I decided to read The Well Trained Mind and after that of course we began making the transition to a modified Classical style. You also introduced us to Life of Fred and my kids would probably personally thank you for that.

Your blog is a sweet breath of fresh air everytime I read it. Keep up the good work!

So sweet, so you. I am completely dependent on your blog for planning our school year. Don't know what I do without you! I'm still in the planning stages as we won't start h/s for a week or two. Living on the west coast of Canada we have to soak up every last scrap of summer. And it's pouring rain today. Summer, my favourite, season better not be over.
Although you addressed it last week, I still need direction on how one would use CC history memorization without being in CC. Is there material or memory cards to buy when you aren't in CC? We do use SOTW. I would love to add singing phrases, memory work. Advise if you are able!

Hi! I've been following your blog for quite a few years (before Lola!) you and I seem to have quite a bit in common and I really wish we could be real life friends. šŸ˜Š I have 3 boys and pretty much homeschool charlotte mason style, but love many things about the classical method. Our oldest son goes to a private special needs school but I am now working on some plans and much prayer to bring him home. It's very hard for me to be consistent but I do better each year. I love your book lists and family life. Your blog encourages me so much! Just wanted to say hi!

Hello from Memphis! I love your blog - you encourage me with your honest and thoughtful approach to various topics. I know that going to your blog will put a smile on my face - either because of the beauty of your pictures or your words that cause me to pause and reflect. Thank you for your work! Blessings on your family.

You already offer so much help and encouragement! I look forward to every post. I keep secretly hoping you'll bring back your sentence diagramming challenges because I re-learned so much more this last year when my son went through the first part of Analytical Grammar that I might do a little better this time. ; ) I'd be willing to host some, if you're interested.

I'm looking forward to this fall for a variety of reasons, but it's also going to be hard because I'm going to be taking 3 trips to help care for my dad who has Alzheimer's and lives 9 hours away. So thankful for the flexibility homeschooling provides, but I have 2 girls that attend a classical school and will stay here with DH, so we'll be apart a lot this fall. But it will all be okay -- it's just a season after all.

Btw, that's a lovely picture of you!

Hi Heidi! I think I've been following your blog since we've moved to the Tri Cities-WA. (5+ yrs-wow, has it been that long?) lol
I enjoy your photography and homeschool insights. I have two boys (11 and 7) This past Christmas I picked up a new hobby-crocheting. This seems like a small thing but I'm one of those moms who when asked what my hobbies were I would draw a blank. lol I've always kept myself too busy with housework, homeschooling, etc. to have a hobby. Now I have three projects going: an afghan for my hubby, a purse that will be a Christmas gift, and a pet bed for one of our animal shelters :-) Have a good one!

Hello from the Cornhusker state (NE)! I am mom to three children who are 7, 5 and 2. We've begun our second year of homeschooling and our second year of Classical Conversations! I am a new CC director and will be tutoring Essentials as well. Whew! We love having a flexible schedule and just being together. I have followed your blog for probably at least a year and a half. It is always encouraging and beautiful! I have an aunt and uncle in Portland, OR and your pictures make me want to come and visit!!! I appreciate all of your posts regarding curriculum, and I loved reading through your Practicum notes! Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making this a beautiful, encouraging blog! Heidi, If you ever wondered what your mission in life is I think these comments on this blog should tell you something. You are an inspiration to many people. When I read your blog and see the lists of books and curriculum and other material, I wonder who is reading it all and I always hope someone is because I know you spend a lot of time doing all that. Now you/we know. And I am sure there are many who feel the same way and just haven't written yet. I know you are an inspiration to Grandpa and me and we marvel at all you accomplish. With herding your 4 active (I'm trying to think of the right word to use to describe them), anyhow we really enjoyed being with all of you. Grandpa says to tell Lola "and we need you". Grandma

Hi there,

You are so very sweet to invite us in to your world. I have followed your blog for several years now and have gained so much inspiration.
We are now in our 5th year of homeschooling. I have a 6th grader, 4th grader, and K/1st grader. We just started our FIRST year with Classical Conversations. We had a pretty rough year last year - some extra (outside) demands on my time have caused us to fall behind in homeschooling this past year. But I/we are excited about this new school year and the opportunity to get "back on track"!
Thank you again for all that you have graciously shared through your blog.
Blessings,
RMann (Colorado Springs)
